  1.      To  transfer files....
  2. A:  You  call  a  BBS or Host machine. The logon asks  for  your  name  and
  3. password.  (the  1st  time you call you have to answer  more  questions  to
  4. register).
  5. B:  Then  you get menus and prompts. You goto the FILE menu  (some  systems
  6. have  the  file menu built-in to the main menu) and press the  command  for
  7. file transfer. The usual command is 'D' to download a file or 'U' to upload
  8. a file.
  9. C:  The BBS will ask which FILE(s) to transfer and which protocol  for  the
  10. transfer (some use the default protocol you named when you registered). The
  11. best  protocol  to use if you can is Zmodem, Ymodem, or  Ymodem-Batch.  You
  12. type  in the full name of the file to transfer.
  13. D: When the BBS says WAITING (or READY or START NOW) you goto YOUR software
  14. file  transfer  screen (menu) to do the transfer from your  end.  (commonly
  15. <PgDn>  <PgUp> keys get your transfer menu in your software) and then  make
  16. sure  your transfer Protocol matches the BBS protocol, and enter your  file
  17. name (and PATH where needed). Once started the transfer is automatic.
